About Khlong Lan National Park

Khlong Lan National Park, established in 1987, encompasses an area of approximately 300 square kilometers in Kamphaeng Phet Province, Thailand. The park is centered around the imposing Khlong Lan mountain range, which reaches elevations of over 1,500 meters, contributing to its cool climate and lush environment. This national park is characterized by dense tropical evergreen forests and mixed deciduous forests, offering habitat to diverse flora and fauna including various bird species, mammals like barking deer, and numerous reptiles. One of the park’s most iconic features is the Khlong Lan Waterfall, a two-tiered cascade that drops about 100 meters and attracts visitors for its scenic beauty and swimming spots. Other waterfalls such as the Khlong Nam Lai Waterfall add to the park’s attractive aquatic landscapes. The park provides opportunities for hiking along rugged trails, wildlife observation, and birdwatching. Visitors can explore several trails that lead to viewpoints with expansive vistas of the surrounding forested mountains. Camping is allowed within designated areas, offering a peaceful retreat into the wilderness. The park's cooler temperatures, especially from November to February, provide a comfortable environment for outdoor activities. Accessibility is relatively easy with well-maintained roads leading from Kamphaeng Phet city, although some trails require moderate fitness levels. Khlong Lan’s blend of natural beauty, tranquility, and relatively low tourist traffic makes it a favored spot for both casual visitors and dedicated trekkers seeking an immersive forest adventure in northern Thailand.
